Saturday 7th March 2009 will be the 48th edition of the Eddie Soens Memorial Handicap Cycle Race, the traditional season-opening event in Merseyside cycling.
Covering 50 miles (30 laps) of the 'Club Circuit' at Aintree Racecourse, the race is open to all categories and is run on a handicap basis.
